Show Notes

Opening up the conversation surrounding sobriety can feel daunting for many people. In the UK we have an ingrained drinking culture and you can feel ostracised if you don’t drink. People quickly form the opinion that you have a “problem”.  Reevaluating our relationship with alcohol and becoming sober curious shouldn’t need a reason.

Alcohol is classed as a pharmacological drug and can heavily impact our mental and physical health. Deaths from alcohol reached a record high during 2020.

In today’s episode I speak to Millie Gooch, one of the female voices pioneering the sobriety movement in the UK today. In February 2018, Millie Gooch gave up alcohol after it started to take a toll of her mental health and wellbeing. Seven months later she founded the Sober Girl Society, an online and real life space for women who don’t drink booze. We cover how you can make the first move to becoming sober curious, where do you start and how you live your life to the fullest without alcohol.
