Perfectionism, Body Positivity & Letting Go with Alex Light

Welcome to the second episode of Live Well, Be Well, Season 9 hosted by Sarah Ann Macklin. This is a podcast that brings you, your weekly slice of wellbeing.

In this episode I speak to Alex Light, an author, activist of body positivity and self-confidence influencer. After struggling from various eating disorders, Alex now speaks openly about her personal battle with diet culture, body confidence and fighting beauty standards. She’s recently written a Sunday Times Bestselling Book, “You Are Not A Before Picture”.

In today’s episode, we delve into how perfectionism can cause us to look for the perfect version of ourselves even at the detriment of our own mental and physical wellbeing, and how we can truly let go of the high standards women are meant to withhold in the face of beauty.

This episode contains topics including eating disorders and sensitive issues surrounding body weight and image, which could be triggering for some individuals.
