Your Diet Probably Isn't Working In the Way You Think It Is - with Dr. Sarah Berry

Show Notes

In today's episode, I interview Dr Sarah Berry, a Reader in Nutritional Sciences at King's College London and the lead nutritional scientist on the ZOE Predict study, which you may remember if you listened to Tim Spector's episode from a few weeks ago.

And before you hit play, I want to ask you a few questions and just take a moment to actually look at the complexity of your own diet. Do you analyse calories? Do you look at macros? Or do you follow a specific diet to optimise your health?

As a nutritionist, I am always interested in what inspires people to make choices around their diet. As individuals, we are complex, but in today's episode, we break down how complex the food we consume is too, and how this impacts our own health. And you may be surprised that the type of diet style you have adopted may not be having as much of an impact as you wished.

We delve into:

  • the complexity of food versus the complexity of us and how this affects our own health outcomes

  • the food matrix to help us learn even more around the complexity which lies in our own responses to food

  • the concept of how and when we eat is going to have a dramatic health outcome on our health markers

  • Plus social jet lag and time-restricted eating.

This is a really interesting episode which I personally have learned a lot from. I think you’ll enjoy it too.
